Ridden by Brendan Powell the 1988 Grand National winner was a generous 10-1 shot which made this a bad day for the bookmakers. Especially as Rhyme 'N' Reason fell at Bechers Brook first time round but managed to continue to victory. 2nd  favourite was 1986 winner West Tip at 11-1 who managed a respectable 4th.<p> Rhyme 'N' Reason also won the Irish National in 1985 making him one of the 'Special' horses that were able to complete a double.
